Free Shipping – Customers Ends up paying more
Friday, June 5th, 2009For the last few months we’ve been offering free shipping and as of today, were back to passing on the shipping rates to customers. I thought it was worth an explanation here on the blog as to why:
Our customers aren’t stupid and after a fair bit of thought we’ve decided that offering “free shipping” is a bit condescending. I don’t believe that anyone really believes that couriers actually deliver the goods for free or that the shipping cost of the product, regardless of if its on our website or any other, isn’t included in the price of the item.
So if you believe this logic, then it starts to become very apparent that by hiding the shipping cost into the cost of your bikini all we really doing is overcharging are better customers who tend to buy two or more products at a time, essentially they pay for the shipping several times over.
Money Wasted on Free Shipping
Its yet to be seen if customers will feel the same way as us, but in an effort to give the best value we’ll be charging a small amount for the shipping (6Euro) and taking this shipping costs off the price of the bikinis. Same total just different structure.
Miss universe Ireland 2009 – The Bikini Section
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009The 2009 Miss Universe Ireland Pageant is well and truly underway with the girls first collective Photoshoot taking place tomorrow. As with the other years, beauty’s from all across Ireland will come together to decide who will represent Ireland in the Miss World Competition.
This year Debenhams will be supplying the evening wear and TheBikiniShop.ie will be supplying the swimwear.
We’ll keep you up to date on all the latest news as best we can, profile as many of the girls as we can and ofcourse get some great photo shots of the contestants in our 2009 range of Bikinis.

The first collective glimpse of the contestants shall hit the papers on Wednesday and thereafter the girls will be featured regularly here and in all the tabloids untill the Coronation Ball, which is promising to be a great event on Friday 26th of June.
